  • The Xpert® Nasal Sample Collection Kit is designed to collect, preserve, and transport nasal swab specimens from patients with signs and symptoms of respiratory infection prior to analysis with the Xpert Xpress Flu Assay and Xpert Xpress Flu/RSV Assay
  • This system includes the Xpert Viral Transport medium that is stable at room temperature and can sustain viability (and infectivity) of respiratory viruses during transit to the testing laboratory or testing area
  • The Xpert Nasal Sample Collection Kit consists of one capture-cap tube containing medium and one peel pouch incorporating a sterile nylon flocked nasal specimen collection swab with a scored shaft for easy breakage
  • The Xpert Viral Transport medium consists of modified Hank’s balanced salt solution supplemented with bovine serum albumin, cysteine, gelatin, sucrose, and glutamic acid
  • Each kit contains: 1 individually wrapped sterile nylon flocked nasopharyngeal swab and 1 Xpert Viral Transport Medium tube
