  • The Starswab II® Collection and Transport Systems are intended for the collection and transportation of biological specimens from the patient to laboratory where direct microscopic examination and further culturing and diagnoses can be performed
  • Sterile, ready to use units for the collection of clinical specimens
  • Shelf life is 18 months
  • Each Starswab is comprised of a sterile peel pouch containing one or two rayon swabs on a skirted plug and a plugged polypropylene tube containing transport medium
  • Spiral media chamber within a seamless polypropylene tube protects sample and keeps it immersed in media during transport
  • Labels preprinted with lot number, expiration date and product code with space reserved for recording patient information
  • Provide excellent recovery in routine bacteriology and is compatible with gram stain and many rapid screening methods
