  • The VerifyNow Aspirin Assay provides a simple measurement to determine whether or not a patient is responding to their aspirin therapy
  • The VerifyNow Aspirin Assay is a qualitative assay to aid in the detection of platelet dysfunction due to aspirin ingestion incitrated whole blood for the point of care or laboratory setting
  • By measuring the rate and extent of changes in light transmittance caused by platelets aggregating in whole blood samples, the VerifyNow System determines the level of platelet function in response to agonists that are specific to the pathways of various antiplatelet medications
  • This assay is not for use in patients with underlying congenital platelet abnormalities, patients with non-aspirin induced acquired platelet abnormalities or in patients receiving non-aspirin antiplatelet agents (may be used in patient s treated with selective COX-2 inhibitors, e.g., celecoxib (Celebrex®)
  • Time to results is 5 minutes (sample incubation required)
  • Samples should be treated as biohazardous material and handled accordingly
  • Store assay devices at 2°C to 25°C (36°-77°F)
